The John Peoples, Jr. collection consists of the personal (1933 - present) and professional (1960 - present) multimedia records of Fermilab's third director. Records of Peoples' research physicist and technical manager achievements precede those of his administrative accomplishments as director in the collection.

Peoples' records as director of the Superconducting Super Collider Laboratory (SSCL) from 1993-94 (during its termination) are within the collection.

The records of his service for the accelerator laboratories of the world, the American Physical Society, the DOE's High Energy Physics Advisory Panel (HEPAP), and as Chairman of the International Committee for Future Accelerators (1992-95), are also among this collection.
