Adrienne Kolb

Adrienne W. Kolb lives in Chicago but dwells within the Fermilab archives. With a degree in 18th-19th century History from the University of New Orleans she entered the new world of 20th century physics.  Her experiences brought her to Fermilab from the research university environments of the University of Texas, the California Institute of Technology and the Los Alamos County Historical Museum.  Upon arrival in 1983, Adrienne joined Fermilab's History Project as the Archivist for the Director's Office.  She has prepared a catalog of the historical collections of the Fermilab archives, presented talks and written papers on the history of Fermilab and the SSC, developed historical exhibitions and collections, and assisted in conference organization and the editing of their proceedings.  She is a member of the Society of American Archivists, the American Physical Society, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Institute of Physics Center for the History of Physics, and the History of Science Society.

Catherine Westfall lives near East Lansing, Michigan. She is a Visiting Associate Professor at Lyman Briggs College at Michigan  State University. She has been the historian of the Jefferson Lab in Virginia and Argonne National Laboratory in Illinois. Her research has involved the large American physics laboratories of Fermilab, Lawrence Berkeley Lab, Los Alamos National Lab, as well as JLab and Argonne. Westfall has collaborated on books, articles and conferences with Hoddeson, most recently, Critical Assembly: A Technical History of Los Alamos during the Oppenheimer Years, 1943-45.
