Site History Committee
Before the establishment of the National Accelerator Laboratory in 1967, a number of families lived on the land now occupied by the lab. Some lived in a small housing development called Weston, but many lived on family farms scattered around the site. The Historical Articles - Site and Natural History section contains more information about these farm families and Weston.
In 1997, Fermilab began hosting an annual picnic for the people who had lived on the site and their descendants. The lab established the Site History Committee to organize these picnics.
