Victoria White

Victoria White received her master's degree in mathematics and theoretical physics from the University of Cambridge. She first joined the National Accelerator Laboratory (later known as Fermilab) as a scientific programmer in 1973. She left in 1975 to work at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and CERN, but returned to Fermilab computing in 1981. She served as deputy head of the Computing Division from 1993 to 1996. She also worked as Special Assistant to the Associate Director for High Energy and Nuclear Physics at the Department of Energy from 1998 to 2002. She returned to Fermilab Computing in 2002. In 2010, she became Fermilab's Associate Lab Director for Computing Science and Technology and Chief Information Officer. She held this position until October 2013, when she became the lab's Chief Operating Officer. She retired from this position in 2014. She passed away in 2024.
