Ryuji Yamada
Ryuji Yamada received his undergraduate degree from Hiroshima University and his PhD in physics from Tokyo University in 1962. He participated in the National Accelerator Laboratory’s 1967 summer study and became an employee of the lab in March 1968. He was involved in the building of the Main Ring accelerator and in numerous experiments at the lab. He was part of the team that discovered the top quark, as well as validated evidence of the Higgs boson. He retired in 2012 and passed away in 2022.
