Giorgio Bellettini held positions at Pisa University and Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare (INFN). He came to Fermilab as a visitor in 1980, where he played a key role in establishing the CDF experiment. He was co-spokesperson for CDF in 1995 when CDF and DZero announced the discovery of the top quark.
