James R. Sanford
James R. Sanford became received his undergraduate degree from Oberlin College in 1955 and his PhD from Yale University in 1961. He became head of the National Accelerator Laboratory's Experimental Facilities Section in the summer of 1969 and served as the first chairman of the NAL Users' Organization. He later became Associate Director for Program Planning. He left the lab in 1976 to join Brookhaven National Laboratory.
