John Rees remarked to me that when he talked with you last week you had not heard of the legislative efforts to name the 200 BeV Accelerator Laboratory . We thought you would be interested in knowing more about this.

To date there have been 20 separate bills introduced in the House of Representatives proposing that the 200 BeV Accelerator be named the "Enrico Fermi Nuclear Accelerator." Each of these bills contains almost identical wording and a copy of one is enclosed for your information. No bills on this subject have been introduced in the Senate as of this time.

The information concerning these bills that may interest you has been compiled and a copy is enclosed.
