The Renaming of NAL
Initially, Fermilab was named the National Accelerator Laboratory, also known as NAL, when it was established in 1967. It was renamed Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (FNAL) in 1974. This exhibit includes newsletter articles, official correspondence and photographs of the historic event.
